vs Ruby

agentmomo and Ruby are answering two different questions.

Ruby is a virtual receptionist company staffed by people. The comparison worth making is not quality, it is shape: their unit is receptionist minutes and ours is an agent that answers everything at once, and those two things break in opposite ways.

Side by side

What Ruby publishes, and what is true here.

Every sentence in the Ruby column comes from their own public page, read on 8 September 2026. Prices and plans change, so check the source before you decide anything on the strength of it.

Who answers

Ruby

Ruby’s own description is "virtual receptionists", people who answer on your behalf.

agentmomo

An AI agent, answering from your material, under guardrails you set with us.

The billing unit

Ruby

Minutes. Their pricing page says the most popular plans range from 50 to 500 minutes per month.

agentmomo

Not decided, and not published until it is.

What a plan costs

Ruby

Their published prices were not readable from their pricing page at the time we checked, so this row is deliberately empty rather than filled from a review site.

agentmomo

Not published. The tiers are not set, and this site does not print a number the operator has not decided.

Coverage

Ruby

Their pricing page states 24/7 coverage and bilingual support on those plans.

agentmomo

Always on, because there is nobody to be off. English only today, and we will say so rather than imply otherwise.

Simultaneous calls

Ruby

A receptionist service answers with the people it has available. Their page does not state a concurrency figure, so neither will we.

agentmomo

Three callers at 6pm are three answered calls. Nothing queues behind the one person who could have picked up.

Channels

Ruby

Read their current page for what is included beyond the phone.

agentmomo

Phone, SMS and web chat, answered by one agent from one set of knowledge.

Getting started

Ruby

Their page routes to a sales conversation to build a plan.

agentmomo

No self-serve signup and no free trial. An account exists because we set it up with you.

Where they win

Where twenty years and a bilingual desk beat us.

  • You need a person, in a language we do not run, at an hour you cannot cover. Their published bilingual, always-on human coverage is a real thing we do not have.
  • Your callers expect to be handled by a person and would be annoyed to reach anything else. That is a legitimate read of your own customers and no demo is going to argue you out of it.
  • You want twenty years of a company behind the contract. We are one live deployment old and we say so on the About page.

Questions

What people ask when they land here.

Do I lose the human touch?

You lose a person on the line, yes. What you get instead is that nobody is ever on hold and nothing is ever missed at 6pm, plus a transcript of everything that was said. Whether that trade is right is a question about your callers, not about the technology.

Can it hand a caller to a person at my business?

It captures who they are and what they wanted and gets that to you, on every profile. It does not perform a live warm transfer today.

How is this priced against a minutes plan?

Unknown, honestly. Pricing is not set. What we can say is that an agent has no marginal cost per simultaneous call, so the shape of the bill will not be minutes, and we will publish the shape and the number together.

Next

Ask it the thing a receptionist would handle.

Ask the demo the question you would be most afraid of it getting wrong. It takes about a minute, and it settles more than this page can.
